Krisp for streamers: when the built-in toggles stop being enough

Test bench7 days, no card, then paid

Where it runsin front of every app, both directions
The only well on this site with a price in it — and the well beside it is the 7-day trial bench you judge it from first, with no free tier behind it.

This is the only page on the site selling anything, so it opens with the disclaimer the others earned: the free stack covers most streamers. Krisp is for three specific walls — and if you’re not hitting them, close the tab and keep your $8.

BUILD 2026.07.30by the Loadout Audio squad

The three walls that justify the paid lane

Wall 1: cross-app life. The free stack cleans OBS (filter) and Discord (toggle) separately. If your week also holds Zoom collabs, sponsor calls and a podcast guest spot, Krisp is one clean mic in front of all of it — two-way: cleans your outgoing mic and incoming speaker audio, with on-device processing; call audio is not sent to Krisp's servers for noise removal.

Wall 2: incoming audio everywhere. Discord’s toggle cleans only what you send, inside Discord. Krisp also scrubs what you hear — in every app. If your duo’s keyboard is ruining your VOD reviews, this is the specific fix.

Wall 3: no qualifying NVIDIA card and a need beyond OBS. Team red, integrated graphics, or a Mac in the setup: Krisp runs on CPU, everywhere. (RTX owners: run Broadcast free first — that matchup usually resolves by hardware, not by review.)

Setup for the streaming case

Install Krisp→select Krisp Microphone in OBS→and in Discord

The trial is the test bench: 7 days, no card, every premium feature — enough for a few ranked nights of judgment, and then access ends unless you pay, because Krisp no longer has a free tier. Note for mobile streamers: mobile apps are for meeting transcription/notes, not live noise cancellation.

Frame budget — measure yours, 60 seconds

Krisp bills the CPU rather than the GPU — different budget, same honesty rule. Anyone quoting an exact FPS cost without your rig in hand is selling something — run the benchmark instead:

  1. Pick a repeatable scene (same map spot, same settings) with an FPS overlay running.
  2. Note average FPS for 30 seconds, filter OFF.
  3. Toggle the filter ON. Same scene, 30 seconds, note it again.
  4. The difference is your real cost. Re-check after driver updates.
your framesfilter cost = measured, not quoted

Community reports put modern-GPU costs in the low single digits and older RTX 2060-class cards higher — treat those as rumors with good intentions, not specs. Your overlay outranks every forum post, ours included.

The math, streamer edition

$8/user/month billed annually against a free stack that already works is a real question, and the honest answer is a wall count: hit none of the three walls above and you should keep your money — this site said so in bold. Hit one weekly and $96 a year is cheaper than the workarounds. That’s the whole pitch; no countdown timer, no “limited offer.”

A year of this, three ways — drawn from the prices in the paragraph above
  1. The free stackOBS + Discord + Sonar$0/yr
  2. Krisp, billed annually$8 × 12$96/yr
  3. Krisp, month to month$16 × 12$192/yr

The first two numbers are printed on this page; $192 is the $16 month-to-month rate × 12, which is the arithmetic behind “take the annual or don’t bother.” Bars are scaled to the tallest bill, so the hatched bar is a real $0 and not a rounding error.

Lobby questions

Isn’t Discord’s Krisp toggle enough for streamers?
For comms, usually yes. The standalone app earns its place when the cleanup must follow you outside Discord — the stream itself, Zoom collabs, sponsor calls — or when you want incoming audio cleaned in every app, not just one.
What does Krisp cost after the trial?
There is no free tier any more: a 7-day full trial with no card, then $8/user/month billed annually — $16 month-to-month, which is double, so take the annual or don’t bother. Re-checked October 8, 2026.
Does Krisp cost frames like Broadcast does?
It bills the CPU instead of the GPU — light, but real on older machines. Same rule as everything here: run the 60-second benchmark with OBS encoding and see what your rig says.
